Thread: Any chance for family of deceased beneficiary of Immigrant Visa??

my uncle, a naturalized US citizen had filed an Immigrant Visa petition (green card) for his brother (my dad) about 12 yrs back. My father passed away a while back while the petition remained in the processing and now we've got a letter from National Visa Centre for further progress. I want to ask if we as the dependents of the main beneficiary stand any chance for getting the immigrant visas based on the petition filed for our father?? Are there any provisions of law to accomodate for such situation or the game is completely lost for us??
Any advice, suggestion and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did you try going to the INS website:
www.immigration.gov and checking under 'how do I'? They might have something.
