Thread: Reentry permit- Umesh

My mother obtained her Green Card about two years ago. While visiting me here she applied for the two year re-entry permit (white passport) and recieved it in April 2001. She needed as much time to wind up from back home. For some reason she had to visit us in August 2002, to say that she entered U.S. before her two years permission to stay overseas. My question is that if her re-entry permit is expiring in April 2003 does she have to again enter U.S. this April or would her last entry count as an entry on her white passport and she can delay her visit here till August since she has one year time to reenter from her last visit.

Your must come back before this re-entry permit expires because this permit is valid from the date of its issue. If she needs to stay more in your country then she should come here and apply for another re-entry permit. Her overstay may result in denial of her entry into the United States.
    Good luck.
