I'm not sure if racism sparked his comments. He's always acted like a total j.erk at award ceremonies. Likes the limelight and that's probably what brought it on.

  4. #4
Of course he is a racist. He also supports affirmative action.

I discussed this with two of my sons who know more about Kanye West than I, they confirmed he hates white people. So, I now believe racism was involved and he should be banned from future attendance at these awards. Nothing but a trouble-maker!!!!

There's not one thing similar to the situation. Kanye West's antics weren't about politics, but race. He was angry a white woman got the award over a back woman. I applaud Beyonce for putting herself above this and getting Taylor Swift back on the stage to finish her speech. And, I hope Kanye's career goes in a sink hole after this!! What a loser.

Obama Calls Kanye West a 'Jackass'

President lashes out at the hip-hop artist in an off-the-record comment during a television interview, an ABC News anchor reported Monday evening on Twitter.

    Tuesday, September 15, 2009

President Barack Obama called hip-hop musician Kanye West a "jackass" on Monday in an off-the-record comment during an interview with CNBC, an ABC News anchor reported on Twitter.

Obama was apparently weighing in on an interruption that occurred the night before during the MTV Video Music Awards where West grabbed the microphone from teen country singer Taylor Swift during her award acceptance speech to announce his belief that Beyonce had a better music video.

"Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential," "Nightline" co-anchor Terry Moran wrote Monday evening to his more than 1 million followers.

The tweet forced the network to issue an apology after the Internet quickly became abuzz over the stunning remark published on the microblogging site.

An ABC spokesperson said, "In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview," Politico reported. "This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again."

Moran's tweet has since been deleted, but can still be accessed.

West, who is no stranger to controversy, apologized for the incident after Sunday night's MTV broadcast and again Monday night during an interview on the premiere of NBC's "Jay Leno Show."

West told Leno he's going to take some time off to reflect and that "it was rude, period."

"I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I'm going to make it through the rest of this life, how I'm going to improve. If there's anything I could do to help Taylor in the future or help anyone, I'd like to," he said.

The White House had no immediate comment on the matter, Politico reported.

He had a Joe Wilson moment LOL

Yup, I guess their acts are pretty close in comparison. There is one difference, though. I don't think Joe Wilson did it to be in the limelight, while Kanye West did. He has pulled this c.rap too many years in a row for it to be an 'accident'. But, nevertheless, both were disrespectful.

Old Joe knew there would be fallout from his outburst so it's not so dissimilar really.

"Wilson denied a suggestion by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd that his outburst against the president was racially motivated. In a column published Sunday, Dowd wrote that what she heard Wilson shout in the House chamber was, "You lie, boy!" -- a highly racially-charged epithet that is deeply offensive to African-Americans."

"But revelations of Wilson's reputed membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans are likely to raise more questions about the motive for his outburst against the president.

The 113-year-old SCV, according to a 2006 SPLC report, had undergone a purge of its longtime moderate members -- including several present and former U.S. senators -- who were replaced by "racial extremists." That, in turn, led to a bitter severing of relations between the SCV and other Southern heritage groups, including the Military Order of Stars & Bars and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

The report noted that some 300 moderate SCV members were expelled, accused by the radical racialists of disloyalty for criticizing racism in the organization."

"Wilson's strident opposition to what he sees as "government-run heath care" in the president's reform package is inconsistent with his being a recipient of government-run health care. Wilson is a retired colonel of the Army National Guard. As such, he receives full health-care coverage under the military's TRICARE program and will retain such coverage for the rest of his life, according to Newsweek magazine.

In fact, Wilson's family -- he has four sons now serving in the military -- has been a beneficiary of such "government-run health care" for several generations, according to the magazine.

Yet Wilson voted 11 times against expanding health-care coverage for veterans, according to the liberal-leaning South Carolina political site IndigoJournal.com, citing a blistering campaign ad by Rob Miller, Wilson's Democratic opponent in last year's election."

Hmmmm, I think the Repubs will not like this. If he'd kept his mouth shut, the media wouldn't have gone looking closely into his background and voting records.
