  1. #1
Hi I met wife in new york where I lived but she live in another state we talk on the phone everyday then I went to michigan to meet her parents and kids, we really fell in love with each other, we got married but I did not leave my work in ny because I have kids they need help finanacially but I goes to michigan every month on my off days. We went to the first interview everyhting was fine then the officer ask me if I'm working I told him yes but in NY then everything went bad he told me I'm living ny and all sort of stuff, I told him I met my wife in nyc and I am originally from nyc the io give us paper and said he will write us a letter for my call history and to give him 60 days to respond. Nothing came. Then like 7 months later wrote us for a second interview telling me bring a job letter and joint letters with both of us names when we went to the itnerview thet called my name then the officer told us they dont have all of my papers and that they need to reschedule my appointment. W went and made an interview through the internet because my work permit was expiring soon. I spoke the officer and she told me that they was waiting on my digital file I think is me name check she told me that got it and is rescheduling an appointment for for me and she was me she would not renew the work permit it will be a waste of money because I should here from them soon. Now my work permit is expire but I am still working with it doing what the io tols me to do will my next interview be a stoke interview, I need help.

Apply for your work permit. As long as your case is not denied, you can apply.

How do you know your next interview is a stokes?

I should apply for my work permit but the officer told me I dont have to because I could be called up for my interview and it will be a waste of money, I dont know if it the next interview will be a stoke interview, I am asking if it will be, thanks.

She said you don't have to but not that you couldn't. You are now working illegally. Isn't it better to try to work legally? The officer you spoke with really has no idea what is going to happen at the interview or how long it will be before you get your green card.

You can apply, but you will be denied because you live separately.

The officer told me not too apply because my interview will be soon, even if I apply for work permit it takes time to get it she said by that time I should already get my interview and they will make there decision.

Mrs Mani you think I should still apply for the work permit, I understood what the officer was saying she pull up my files on the pc she said if I apply for the work permit they would send a receipt but it will take like 2-3 months for them to ship it by that time I should already get a decision.
