I am a current b1/b2 visa holder. I was once granted a j1 visa and i am therefore subject to the 2yr home residensy requirement. Can i apply for work authorization for a summer job without worrying about been denied this due to my home residency requirement.
P.S. I did 6mths of the requirement now i am back in the US for the summer holidays. but would like the opportunity to work.

From what I understand you at one time were on J-1 status but that is not your current status. Since you are currently on a B1/B2 visitors visa, you are not eligible for work authorization.
