Thread: Is Dallas, Texas a nice place to live?

  1. #1
Mian has a nephew in Dallas, Texas and wants to move there.

I went through Texas to Cali years ago via Route 10.

All I saw were rattlesnakes, jackalope, and flying cockroaches.

I can't picture Mian in cowboy hat and boots.

All my friends are in New England.

    Please advise.

The weather in Dallas in very hot and humid - in the summer it's about 100 degrees with 100% humidity. I never met rude people in Dallas. I lived in Texas 8 years (the northern part) and found Texas to be very kind and courteous but the weather and topography are a little difficult to deal with. It would be one of my last choices for living. Cowboy hats and blue jeans are not required there are many "business people" in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Take care

    Thanks Michael!

Keep the negative comments coming. I don't wanna go.

I bet it would mess up his case too? We have not filed I-751 yet.

    Hi josephine,

I live in Arlington,TX..about 30 minutes from Dallas. I would recommend moving to a surrounding city but not Dallas itself. It is huge and very very busy!
Arlington is great, cause you can get a job in all the surrounding areas. It is kind of central.
I love the area here. I am originally from Niagara Falls, Canada so I am not used to the heat but have adapted pretty well I think. I really miss the cold though and get cravings for it.
I think that every person will adapt differently but I really like the people here and don't think I would be happy if we had to move somewhere else.
    Anyway, hope this helps!

Jo, I know I don't know you but. I can't imagine you living in Texas.

I'm from north of there on the St. Lawrence Seaway. I don't miss Hell's Winter at all.

Looks like Dallas or Syracuse. I'd rather swelter in Dallas than freeze in Syracuse?

Hey Pasha, you rent rooms by the week or month?

How did you come up with those two cities?
