  • ead interview in 2 weeks

wife goes for her ead interview in 2 weeks and she is nervous. she does not know what to expect. interview is in Newark NJ. Anybody have anything on this?
Also, they are asking for proof of NJ residency. Would a phone bill cover this?

Of course, I don't know the specifics of your wife's case, but if it is a simple EAD appointment as a result of an adjustment of status application and alien relative petition (I-485 and I-130), all she has to do is to bring along the original appointment notice, the documents listed in the notice (usually a picture ID). When she's called in, they'll take a picture of her (even though she may have submitted pictures) and ask her to sign the card. A few minutes later she will be given the card.

Yes, an utility bill (such as a phone bill, cable bill, power bill) is proof of NJ residency.

I wouldn't worry too much about the EAD. They do not, or at least in my experiences, ask any questions and just want to get you out of there ASAP. Bring the notice and whatever else it states.
