Immigration Lawyer's work verification

How can I check if my lawyer is doing what he says he is doing? For example, he says he's filed my forms to the INS, is there any way I can check that he has and that he is not just lying to me. Thanks

For one thing, you can ask your lawyer for the receipt from INS/BCIS, which should provide a tracking number for the applications.

Or you can have a meeting with him and ask him face to face.

ASK FOR A RECEIPT TOO...

You are entitled to have copies of all papers and correspondence filed on your behalf. You should talk to your Lawyer and demand for copies for your record. If he has received any correspondence or reply from Immigration, he should provide it to you.
