  • LIFE LEGALIZATION / LULAC INTERVIEW

I had my adjustment of status interview this week under LULAC/LIFE LEGALIZATION. At the end of the interview, the INS officer told me that my application would be approved after the completion of security checks. No timeframe was given for how long the security checks will take. I will believe it once I see the approval notice.

    Oscar,

Congratulations!!! That's great news. Did you ask the officer how long the security checks will take. My FBI check cleared in a day, but I think they also will have to do IBIS, which could take longer.

Thanks MV. Her words wre that this will go into the "Black hole" of the security checks. My fingerprints results are complete but the IBIS is still pending. No idea as to how long it will take.

        OSCAR:

That's a wonderful news. I'm very happy for you and hope that INS will start approving many other LIFE cases.

        Best wishes to you.

My interview was faily short about 20 minutes.
First, the INS officer took my fingerprints and signiture on a card. After looking into my file, she only had one question and that was regarding my being out of status from 82-88. She asked for tax returns for last three years and current employment letter. I was given a civic exam to complete. After I completed the civic exam, she informed me that I would have to apply for my wife after I receive my greencard. She went over my current address, ssn, date of birth etc. At the end of the interview she informed my lawyer regarding the security check.

I had lots of documents to prove my presence from 82-88. Bellow are few of them.

            1. School records from 79 - 84
            2. Social security earning statement from 81 - present
            3. College records from 84 - 89
            4. W2's from 85 - 88
            5. Letters from my county regarding my school attendance.
