You violated the Student Visa's conditions, when you started working without authorization. You had got Student Visa because you had submitted Affidavit of Support also that all your expenses and Fee in the United States will be paid by the person giving Affidavit of Support. If some financial position had changed, you could request your College to help you to get permission for work or you could get work at your campus. They ROR you, still it is big favor to you shown by them. You should be thankful to them. Your Student Visa will definately be cancelled, you will have to look for some good attorney, if you do not want to go home.
      Good luck.

"...never violated my status..." "...where I worked illegally..."...hello, anyone home?
You violated your status when you began working without permission at the restaurant....remember the back of the I 20 and other places where employment rules are discussed....did you forget those? Or, wait, I know, you think that our laws are "harsh and unfair" and that you are the exception to these rules....or maybe the Devil made you work illegally????? Grow up.

          LOL, last post is funny.
you need to ask your school to file for work permission, regardless of grant of permission. take this copy of application of permission to good atttorney, he will do the rest.
          get it done ASAP.
otherwise your visa will be cenceled.
