  • Do I need a lawyer?

    Just got married to a USC.Have held jobs without autorization,OVERSTAYED my b2 for more than 3 years.Just received all the forms from INS.
    Now should I hire a lawyer or do you guys think I can do this by myself?
    PLEASE help.

      I would recommend that you at least consult a lawyer to make sure that you have all of the paperwork and know everything that you need to know. Also, to find out whether or not you will be given a bar (if so, you will probably want a lawyer to file the waiver - if possible).

        Unless you have comitted a crime (like using a fake or stolen SSN) you should be ok. Do not try to leave this country before you get your GC though or you will face the 10 year bar to return here.

          Thanks for your advises.I'm not planning to leave before I get everything taking care of.I'll let you know how things are going.Its a beautiful country and wonderful peoples I think every one on this planet should experiance the USA.

              Dear Zulu, I advise u must consult an immigration consultant to help u filling ur forms correctly, their charges are nominal, may be $ 25-30. If u hire a lawyer he will rip u off ur whole year earing for same job & may be spoil ur case so that u continue to be his/her client for ever. Be very carefull of their tricks. GOOD LUCK.

                  U can see local news papers for their ads or u can see their offices close to INS offices. I am not sure where u can find them in ur place of residrnce but u have to make an effort to locate them & asking some lawyers's secrateries. They may guid u to someone known to them. Ok
