  • 180 days rule for AOS

Does anybody know, after 180 days (calander days) of filing of AOS, do we have to have job ?
What happens to AOS if anyone doesn't have job after 180 days of filing?

it doesn't make sense, why would you have to have a job by 180 days? I presume that a I-864 was filed too, proving that somebody can support you if you don't have a job,so that you don't sponge off the government. I may be wrong, but isn't that the whole point of the affidavit of support.

Yes, for employment based AOS you have to have a job by the time of the interview. It may be a different sponsor (for 180 day rule), but a job description must be the same or similar to the one in the approved labor certification.

No job = denial of AOS.
