  • Challenging case

    To be brief:
    - Arrived in the US November 1998
    - Filed first I-485 in May 2000 through marriage.
    - Filed I-360 in Vermont in June 2001
    - 1rst interview in July 31 2001: case waiting for I-360 to be approved
    - I-360 approval notice received September 2001
    - I-485 lost by INS September 2001
    - Filed 2nd I-485 October 2001
    - 2nd interview November 2002 (during freeze for creation of Homeland security office!)
    - INS found my first I-485 (that was lost!) and denied it, July 2002
    - Filed 3rd I-485 September 2006
    - Next interview December 18 2006

Now my question: with all this mess and all those filed I-485, what are my chances of getting my green card approved next monday?
They have all documents needed, and I am bringing doubles plus copies.

HELP! I am tired of this. What can I do to help them help me?

You're so dumb that you did exactly what they wanted to find out. They didn't "lose" your application, then "suddenly" found it. They wanted to see what you would do AFTER they told you they'd lost it and instead of waiting for them to tell you what to do, you took it upon yourself to file a second one.

You proved to them that you only married to obtain a green card. That's why you got the 1st one denied.

Now they're just waiting to see what your next dumb move will be.

What is your AOS based on?

Why was your first I-485 denied?

What happened to your second I-485?

Did you ever get an interview originally for I130? Where is your husband, and do you know if he withdrew his petition for you?

You might want to find that out before you go in for the interview. And of course take a good lawyer with you.
