  • When can I apply for N-400?

I got my permanent residence card in Feb 2005.
I was wondering if someone could tell, When I will be eligible to apply for N400?

Online sites say, that I can apply after 5 years.
But I have also read somewhere, I can apply 4 months before end date (like after 4 years and 8 months)

    your advice highly appreciated!

I presume you're not married to a US citizen.

You may apply for N-400 4 years and 9 months from the day of becoming a permanent resident. For more information, check this guide provided by USCIS.

You don't apply for an N-400, that is the form you complete as part of an application for citizenship.

You are already eligible for filing N-400 for Citizenship. N-400 can be applied 90 days before the fifth anniversary. Good luck.
