  • NATURALIZED CONVICTED FELON

I HAVE BEEN A NATURALIZED CITIZEN SINCE 1973. I WAS CONVICTED ON A MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE. DID MY TIME AND IS OFF PROBATION. PLAN TO TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY, AFRAID I WILL BE DENIED RE-ENTRY BY U.S. IMMIGRATION? IS THIS POSSIBLE?

I take it the felony and requisite conviction occured after you became a citizen?
The above is simply an opinion. Your mileage may vary. For immigration issues, please consult an immigration attorney.

Then I'd presume that US citizenship will afford you protection. As a US citizen you have re-entry privileges unless the US gov't has reason to believe an individual is involved in covert activity that could compromise the security of the nation. Denaturalisation is also a process used to strip citizenship from applicants that failed to disclose information during the process that would otherwise have rendered them ineligible. However, seeing as we do not have all the pertinent details related to your history, if in doubt, it's advisable to consult an immigration specialist.
