  • Case under Investigation/ Processing/ Pending

When a person talk to immigration officer about the status of I-485, and the officer tell him it's under investigation. What does case under investigation means?

    Is there a difference between?
    1-Case under investigation.
    2-Case in processing.
    3-Case is pending.

    Thanks to all feedback

Is OP still around, waiting for our answer?

        Lulac,

Perhaps an average ****sterhead gets shivers under the skin when hears such a simple word as 'investigation', but in all fairness investigation (as related to I-485 case) is nothing but fulfillment of duty by Government Agency that is in Public Service and gets Public paid taxdollars to fullfill it's Constitutional obligations.

If one wants more info re. the investigation of I-485 one can request copy of his/her file under FOIA, though they may not get the full info ,especially if he/she is under investigation.

        Hope this helps,
