  • Question about withdrawing I-485

I have been separated from my husband since june 2005, only got my final divorce papers now in september 2006,I had to do a divorce through publication, because he was nowhere to be found.

Right after I did get my final divorce papers my lawyer and I sent a letter with a copy of my final divorce to immigration saying that I wanted to withdraw my pendind case to adjust to a permanent residence status. I even sent the letter with cetified mail to make sure they got it.
Now almost 3 months later they send me an appointment letter for finger printing regarding I485. When I thought my case was canceled. I don't want to continue with this case anymore. What can I do to make sure I cancel this past case?
Plus I got married again and was ready to file another petition, how long will I have to wait now?

    Thanks to all

Going in for finger prints IS just another step in what eventually will be YOUR cancellation process request. Your lawyer did the right thing.

Now it's up to you and the rest as they say, will be history.
