  • N-400 document list

    Hi:
I have been married to a US citizen for 5 years. I got permenant GC for more than 3 years. I am planning to apply for US citizen soon.

In the Naturalization guide, it said:
Document referring to you and your spouse:
    1. Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of childres, Or
    2. IRS-certificated copies of income tax form for the past three years. Or
    3. an IRS tax return transcript for the last free years

    My question
    1. when i applied for "remove of condition on GC", i sent them all those document, do i have to send them again?

    2. since it is using OR, so i need to send one of those, basically they are asking for the tax return for the last three years.

    3. should i bring those document with me when i have an interview, or send them now with the application?

    Thanks

Yes, you need to submit the documents again, this is a seperate request. Your best bet is to submit copies of all the documents with the N-400 application and also have the originals with you when you are called for the interview.
Suggestion bring five years of income taxes. Good Luck SPEEDY..

Yes dear, mail COPIES as per their request...have ORIGINALS for your interview.
Since you have been married for 5 years, for your interview to go quickly & smoothly they r looking to see if u file JOINT RETURNS-at this point in the marriage ALL bills should be in both of your names. This is when you should have lots of photos of the relationship. Holidays, Seasons etc...they want to see the progression of the marriage.
