  • Misdemenor will it cause difficulty in getting legal staus?

my older cousin has stayed away from any problems
with the law but his love for cars and speed got him in trouble he got a misdemeanor for being a spectator at a street drag race. my question is will this misdemeanor cause him not to receive a green card if he tries to apply or if there ever is a amnesty or such will he be elgible to gain legal status again his misdemeanor isn't anything bad
other than spectatating at a street drag race

      What was the charge?

I've never heard of anyone getting a misdemeanor for watching a street race.

        spectating drag racing

illegal drag racing meaning in a regular street
        not a closed course.

            This is a real charge?

Cops in his area must be real bored.

Street racing and boy racers are a huge problem, JC. Many countries have clamped down big time, and of course, the thought is that if you charge the spectators, fewer people would want to go watch. The fewer people that want to watch, the less street races there's going to be.

Icewood, how long ago was the charge?

2 months ago ... he is really sad cause he's not sure if he will be able to ever apply for U.S Residency or if there is ever a amnesty is he can apply.

Directly from the DOS, showing what would cause someone to be ineligible.

Funny, they charge him for merely being a spectator, and don't charge him for breaking US immigration and sovereignty laws. Go figure?
