April 2011: New French law forbids Islamic women from wearing veils and other head gear in public. Shouting slogans and bearing banners with the words 'Shariah 4 France', 'Nicolas Sarkozy Burn In Hellfire' and 'Niqab: Honour For Women', they were the most vocal opponents to the new law. Hateful preacher Abu Izzadeen, who has previously been jailed for incitement, spoke during the protest. Women who break the new legislation could face fines of 150 euros, or US$215, as well as 'French citizenship lessons'. 'They should not be here demonstrating against anything, least of all the face veil ban', said one officer, who was wearing full riot gear as he stood outside Notre Dame. YES!!!

Sarkozi is a clown, not really a President.

But, Sarkozi aside, I don't understand what is wrong when Secular French Government requires its' Citizens not to wear religious symbols or clothing for a public display?

There are plenty of countries where one can wear those type of clothes, including Saudi Arabia, OAE and Iran to name a few, why don't they move to where it is an acceptable custom to show off ones religious attachments and symbols in public?

Thumbs up to French for maintaining the Secular nature of their Republic.
