  • Americans want amnesty

Americans strongly support the presidential proposal of guest worker program for hard-working people who assimilated, paid taxes and proved they are necessary for US economy.
Let's listen what the American people say across the states say:

    John Taylor, Florida:
"This cook and this restaurant is very good and I do not understand why our government makes him a problem to get documented here. I and my friends eat here every week."

    Elisabeth O'Connor, Kentucky:
"Illegal workers did a great job to fully renovate my house. Without them new construction in my town would be dead. Deport criminals not the hard-working people."

    Scott Burke, Nevada:
"Without them my farm would be dead. I want our government to let most of the hard working people to stay here on temporary guest worker visa. Bring even one million more of them I have a job for everybody who likes to work."

    Marry Fillstein, Connecticut:
"I am a bit surprised how beutifull the illegal hard working people renovated the roof of all casinos up here. Our supermarkets are cleaner here. They cannot compare to union workers. I would feel safer if our government let them documented. Crack on criminals, gang and drug dealers, child abuders and thieves not on hard working people. It is not their fault that the borders have been opened for decades."

    Craig Rosemary, Pennsylvania:
"Everybody breaks the law – I do it everyday by speeding 15 miles over the limit. If caught they should just pay the penalty. If there had been a guest worker program before they would have come here legally. I am pretty sure. Seal the borders and document those who have not committed a crime. The rest get out. There is plenty of work here in US."

As you see American want good people to stay and live here but the people to leave.

Support guest worker program and call progressive Representatives and Senators!

    God bless America!

God bless President Of United States Goerge Bush!

    God bless Guest Worker Program!

    Save America and vote Democratic!

      Cathy Moulthy, California:
"What a stupid idea to make somebody who overstayed a visa a criminal or a felon. Our company desperately is looking for construction workers, plumbers, electricians and the only available are undocumented workers. Let get them documented and match up willing employer with a willing undocumented worker. Deport criminals not a hard working guests."

As you see clearly American people want good people to stay and live here but the bad people to leave.

I have paid over the last 15 years more than $110,000 of federal taxes and about $20,000 of state taxes.
          How about you?

Most of them are not CRIMINAL.
Crime is basically something you get arrested for by police.
As of now for speeding violation you do not get arrested.
Police officers are instructed not to arrest anybody just for his illegal presence in US.

Be careful using the "paying taxes" argument. A married couple with 2 children making less than $50k per year would either pay very little or no federal income tax whatsoever for three distinct reasons: low progressive marginal tax rates, nonrefundable credits to reduce the tentative tax such as child tax credit, education credit, child and dependent care credit, and finally itemized deductions and certain specific adjustments to income.

              Maria,
personally for me, I want immigrants to come legally; however, I also do recognize the logistical and legal nightmare that faces those who want to come as immigrants, or even nonimmigrants in most cases. I would like the process simplified to about 6 or 7 basic categories instead of the 20 plus different visas currently being used. I also want the processing times shortened for worker nonimmigrants instead of filing a form to speed up the process and pay a $1000 additional fee. Finally, I want both Mexico and Canada to cooperate with border control in their respective jurisdictions and not encourage illegal immigration. Further, I do sympathize with their illegal status, especially the children who are not old enough to understand the consequences. A resonable guest worker program that does include the outstanding contributions who are already here illegally and have permenant and stable jobs.

Yes, I have paid taxes..since the day I started work at 16 yrs old. I am an american citizen by birth. What strikes me as odd, is your hypocrisy. You say YOU should be able to stay and work as non-US citizen who stayed in this country ILLEGALLY after your visa expired, but yet you are one of the FIRST to applaud legislature that DOES NOT gives other non US citizens the right to live and work here who are here under the same pretense that you are here.
I am all for anyone becoming a citizen, but what irritates me is the IGNORANCE of some people that think the LAWS and RULES do not have to apply to them.
I am not a perfect person...
                Never will be...
If you live in Mexico, why do you pay taxes to the US government?

Dear Maria: if those six fools you quoted are so interested in the welfare of illegal aliens, why not call them up and ask them to take in, oh, say about 10 illegals each, into their homes, feed and clothe them, let them use their cars, maybe even get a job where this idiots work.....go ahead....test out their so-called generousity.....I'm betting that none of these illegal alien supporters would lift a finger - instead, they just blurt out empty words.

lovelovelovelove, if you were to read Maria's old posts it's always the same. I'm glad you posted the dictionary excerpts... According to Maria she is not guilty of anything, even though she stayed here after visa expired, after she was no longer in compliance, and who knows what she is doing with aos. I don't care what she does as long as she stops posting incorrect drivel that usually is not coherent and does not continue to speak for US citizens as she tries to do.

                        Love,
US citizens and resident aliens are ruquired by law to pay taxes on their worldwide income regardless of where that income is derived or where the US citizen or resident alien retains their residence. This is according to USC 26 statues of the IRC.

Hudson... what about those that are here illegally? Those are the ones I'm addressing. How does someone who overstays their visa (or is here ILLEGALLY)get a job LEGALLY?
Therefore, they are either paying taxes under some false pretense or they are not paying taxes at all. Thats my question...

When you get involved with the preparation of a case you discover how many of these people do pay taxes through several different legal schemes. The one thing is, they will never receive credit for any money they put into the system. Many others will resort to 1040NR for their tax filing if they receive money from financial transactions that occurred outside the US. Not everybody illegally present has an illegally obtained job.
However, I do not agree that amnesty is needed, what's needed is justice and the restoration of faith in legal institutions. Who would follow a law created by Congress when you see Congressmen and women involved in corruption and other illegal schemes? When a judge is involved in this very type of situation, he or she is removed or suspended from the bench, legal authority is also supported by the moral right to pass judgement.
