  • Help: Canadian citizen wants to marry denied refugee claimant

    Hi
I want to marry my boyfriend. However he applied and was denied refugee status and is waiting appeal .
I love him and I dont want him to leave. Will it be possible for him to stay if we get married or he will have to leave and come back?

    Thanks

Maybe he could apply for refugee status in the US.
      Have a nice day

We need some more facts here.

        What we do know:

        1) Oelje is Canadian
        2) Boyfriend of Oelje is a denied refugee claimant.

        What we don't know:

        Is Oelje in the U.S.?
        If so, under what status?
Is the boyfriend in the U.S.?
If so, what are his circumstances?

        More info please.

Thanks for the response and sorry for not giving more info.
In fact, we are both in Canada. I am a canadian and he is in canada also waiting for appeal.

          Thanks Again

            Oh OK.

I guess I just assumed this board was for U.S. immigration issues. Haven't seen much in the way of Canadian issues.

I'd suggest you contact a Canadian-based immigration discussion group.

            Here is a good one:

            Good luck.
