  • Moving after marriage

I married my US Citizen wife about 17 months ago. We are living together and everything. I am getting a really good job opportunity in a different city, which is too good to pass up. My wife, also working full-time, does not plan on moving with me due to her work. I would only be moving 210 miles. My question is that, I will be applying for my condition to be romoved from my green card in the next few month. Does me moving away from my wife raise a red flag? If they remove the condition its great, but what else have they done in the past? We dont have kids. But we have been living together, she is on my insurace policy at work, we attend work functions together, I mean there is nothing odd about our marriage except the fact that I might have to accept a job offer and move, while my wife stays behind. Just curious as to what has happened to other people in the same situation? Also, what types of things do we need to present to prove our marriage to get the condition removed?

Temporary work deployment away from home should not necessarily have adverse effect on Form I-751. But the key thing to do to dispel any USCIS officer's doubt is to sufficiently document your situation such as through your continuous emails, phone calls (contacts appearing on bills), trips to and from home, etc.

Antivirus: You just have the most difficult time actually remaining in the same city as this woman.

hmm...not really BUT you should maintain records of your travels to visit each other...you should also keep your "letter of employment" that shows the job offer -salary-etc.
          Good luck!
