  • Fingerprints expired after passing Naturalization Interview..?!

    Hello,
N-400 for my mother, she went for fingerprints twice, both times rejected due to bad quality of the prints. Month later she passed the naturalization interview, they requested Police clearance, which we provided and now waiting for oath ceremony letter. Instead, she got notice to go back 3'rd time for fingerprints because the "fingerprint card on file has expired" ?!

    Any ideas....?

Yes. They may have tried to use her old fingerprints from when she became a PR which were good enough quality but they have since expired. Under the INA, fingerprints expire after 15 months and that is why they have to redo them. Also for every application now they have to take fingerprints as part of the background checks.
