  • Identification travelling internationally with infant?

My Husband and I will be taking our daughter from the US to Canada when she is 6 weeks old.
My question is does she have to have her own passport or can she have her own?
Or can I just bring her birth certificate with us?
Thanks for any input on this.

If your daughter is born here then you must have her passport.
Sec 215(a) Unless otherwise ordered by the President, it shall be unlawfull.
      (f) Passport, visa, reentry permit, and other documents required for entry under this Act may be considered as permit to enter for the purposes of this section
I read in 7 Foreign Affairs Manuel I for got the section that It is unlawfull for any citizen to Depart or enter US with a passport and US Citizen must have a valid travel document.

What nationality are you and your spouse? If you are american then her birth certificate and your ids will be sufficient Actually it will be the same regardless. No need for a passport yet.
