You are better off going to the USCIS.GOV web site and looking at the time tables there. These are usually updated at least once a month. All you will need to be able to make sense of the table is where your petition is being processed, what kind of petition it is and what is the date on your receipt.

      Hope this helps.

Is the date on my receipt the NOTICE DATE from my I-797C notice of action?

Yes, the I-797 will have a receipt date and notice date on it. It shouldn't differ but by a couple of days at max. Use the receipt date and the USCIS official processing dates (at USCIS.gov) to make an estimate on how much longer you have before adjudication.

But my notice date is march 2005. should i refer to that when looking to the processing time? cause they are now processing cases receipted on may 02, 2005, and uscis just sent me a mail that my i-485 was transferred to california district office and its taking 270-300 days for them to process that case.
Please help me understand it cause its really confusing.. thanks

If that's the case, call the USCIS toll free and see what can be done about it. Where was it transferred from? It could be they calculate it based on the old processing center timeline.
