After you send in your N-14, it takes a few weeks to get sorted through the mail room and to an officer who will review your case. They look over the information and determine if what you sent in overcame your shortcoming. If it did, your case grinds through the remainder of the process and you get called to take the oath of citizenship. This can take several months.

However, if what you sent in did not show that you met the requirements of the law, your case will go through the denial process. This takes much longer than approval. One, because it is more work for USCIS and two, because approving cases takes priority and they only deny cases when they don't have cases to approve.

Sadly, USCIS generally won't tell you what they are doing, just that the case is "in process." So you just have to wait until the notify you.

                Thanks Old Man,
                Thanks Pasha,

                Hello
This is on 5 years base appliction,

                Officer was ok,
May be they are like that becouse other illigal Immigrants or Authority whatever.

                It all went well

trying to find fault in certain matter.
                -
                After getting
re entry permit of two years and
                4year and 1 day clause
                we apply N-400
but he says that your application can be denied and green card can be taken away becouse you stayed more time out of USA. we came in 1996 ,file IRS-1040 since 1999 -2003 five years.

                -
                also about our stayed
under oath we says that we stayed at two places
mon-thurs at one palce (rented) and
                fri-sun at another place(sisters place).
so what was his idea i donot know,
try to prove that we are speaking lies and try to put us in wrong box .we were Truthful and honest so he understand later on.

Hi, I applied for a Citizenship. Im a pilot who travels a lot aout of the country and went over the time I'm supposed to be here. I had the interview but the officer request that I had to come back with ducuments that prove my presence in the US. The also want my logbook which I dont have. Will they deny my application for not bringing my log book and is there any way they find out all my ins and outs of the country since my passport is not always stamp? Thank you
