  • File I-130 and I-485 together or separate?

I'm a USC filing for my Korean wife. We have everything ready to file the I-130, but we still need some things for the I-485 (medical exam and certified English translation of her Korean birth certificate and other Korean documents). Is it best to file the I-130 first and then the I-485 when we get those final things taken care of? I think we can just send a copy of the I-130 along with the I-485 and at least USCIS can start on the I-130 which may speed things along for us at least a little.

Filing everything togheter is the fastest way.

If you file I-130 first you would have, in theory, to wait till it is approved before you can file I-485.

So file everything togheter in one enveloppe.

      Good luck.
