  • AOS Interview done and approved!!!Thank God and thanks to this board!

Hi board, I'm just so happy and thrilled that I'm half way done with my business with CIS. I had my AOS interview this afternoon sheduled at 12:30 but we were not called in 'til 1:15pm, it was at the Sacramento CA district office. It was a very brief interview(I think it only lasted for about 5 mins). The officer was very polite and he didn't really asked any "nasty" questions. My husband and I brought in our 7 month old baby boy, I guess that helped a lot. We were first sworn in and he asked for our IDs and my passport, the baby's birth certificate, plus our mortgage statements, health insurance policy, and our joint bank statements. He asked routine questions like if I were convicted of anything, etc? Then he asked where I'm working now and if this is my first marriage. Basically that was it and I signed a piece of paper and I got fingerprinted again on that piece of paper and he said to wait for the approval letter and make an appointment thru INFOPASS so I can have my I-551 stamp or I can just wait for the GC itself, 'coz they are still waiting for security clearance. So, again thanks a lot to everybody and may God bless you all.
    My timeline is as follows:
Originally came in on B2 visa- 7/1/01
Got soponsored as a RN by the nursing home and I-140 got approved- 6/15/02
    Got 1st EAD- 09/03/02
I-485 employment based been pending since 7/15/02
Meet my husband thru my co-worker in 9/02
    Got married 6/7/03
    Gave birth 3/9/04
Hubby filed a family based I-485(thru his persuation, I was hoping that I can get my employment based I-485 approved, but we got tired of waiting)- 8/15/04
    Got fingerprinted 10/02/04
and interviewed today.I renewed my EAD once. That was really quick in almost 2.5 months everything was almost completed(family-based AOS)! So, again my sincerest thanks to everybody.

By the way, I have posted some stuff before re: transferring to another job while my employment based I-485 is pending, I got some great replies and just to keep everyone posted, I left the Nursing home that sponsored me and I have been working in a big medical center here in Sacramento and I'm much happier now, and I have great benefits too! Everything is doin' just great!

                  Congratulations Lexlee
Keep your fingers crossed for me, they just requested my Visa Screen Cert which I applied for after I spoke to you, that should be the last hoop for me to jump too. Hopefully I will be called for interview soon, have been waiting 3 years now.
Good luck to you and glad you have a new job you are enjoying.
