It wasn't a resounding defeat, but he did mangage to edge her out. Now she can go back to her tea party.

If it weren't for the spoiler and democrat sponsored illegals voting, she probably would have won. Where do you get off calling any of our people insane. The governor's race is a shade different, isn't it? Muwaaahaaahaa yourself.

The people want change, and we've got it. Looking at the vote totals. Republican victories were by very wide margins illustrating the country's dissatisfaction with socialism.
This message brought to you by the vast right wing conspiracy.

YES!! Sharron "I'm a Tea Party moron" Angle bites the dust. Another Mullah Limbaugh supporter gone. Christine "I'm a witch" O'Donnell was soundly defeated too. Like I said before...why did the Repubs think putting a far right wing nut in DE was going to win them that election??

The Repubs might have won the House but the Dems still hold the Senate and Harry still is the Leader. Go Harry Reid! Now the Repubs will have to work with the Dems and not be obsructionist anymore or else their right wing docrines won't make law. Just as with Bush, Obama has the veto.

The one result of all this is 2 years of finger pointing and hardcore, tough as nails gridlock. Nothing more. Change? Not at all.

Nothing to do with the people, you eat what you're fed.

I encountered people who said they were voting Republican to keep the government small and out of their lives, to limit spending. But then they said the Republicans would create jobs. Now hold on a second. Isn't that a job for the free market if you follow the hardcore republican ideals?

You want the government out of your life, but then you want them to get you a job? What about Medicare? What about the spying on Americans? Keeping them out of your lives? Fact is, from 2001 to 2006 the Government was in your living room and with you in the car, listening to your phone, and nobody complained because most were scared out of their mind.

This is business as usual. Spinning, lies and tag lines. Also, the Democrats don't have any backbone but behaved like the entire thing was a popularity contest, you even had the PResident pandering to some GOP politicians who felt "left out". I do understand bipartisanship is helpful sometimes, but America wanted a change, that's why the Dems were in charge, and all people got to see was accusations and nothing being done.

And now, it'll be the same nothingness but in steroids. Enjoy.

Probably very true Houston. I doubt they'll be much change but at least we won't have far right wing nuts dictating what happens (although they'll try).

You got it in one. Americans want everything without paying for it. Sharron famously said it wasn't a Senators job to create jobs but they went on to say she would establish the right conditions for companies to come to NV. I said this before, doesn't that sound like special interests winning in NV? Isn't that what she (and the Tea Party lot) are against?? Doesn't make sense.

This is lobbying in action. Old news.

You give them tax cuts and everything will be fine. Lie. It doesn't work, if it did, this economic crisis woudln't be happening to begin with.

I mentioned that to illustrate the state of confusion. Most people run with what they're told, nobody has the time to go dig and read.

The Republicans know one trick well. Formulate a catchy phrase, and repeat it till you can't repeat it no more. Job well done there.

The Democrats, instead of remaining firm and working with the people, oh no, they run and hide and shake in their boots because they wanna be liked. Like a little kid. Bunch of cowards, also job well done.

Will they pay the price? Hell no, that's a pleasure reserved for the rest of us.

Agreed. The Dems need more backbone to deal with the Repubs or else the likability factor will be the death of them. Do a Bush and go "my way or the highway"

Reid's win in Nevada counted on Angle's weaknesses

LAS VEGAS - Maybe it shouldn't have been such a shock Tuesday night that one of the brightest spots for Democrats across an otherwise bleak national landscape was here in Nevada, where Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid prevailed despite a devastated state economy and deeper personal unpopularity than many who lost elsewhere.

Maybe it's true that a stronger opponent than tea party favorite Sharron Angle could have dispatched Reid with ease - but maybe it's also true that no other Democrat could have beaten Angle. And maybe it's true that the closeness of the race since the very start was an emblem of Reid's vulnerability - but maybe, in this year, it was an emblem of his staying power.

They brought this on themselves Brit. They had a chance to take the Senate, and these 2 nit wit candidates were the best that they could come up with??? Mind boggling

Hopefully this is the end of the Palin type candidtates coming forward to "help" america. All of them give brains a bad name.
