  • Oath Ceremony (Swearing In)

Hey guys. Just curious. Has any one ever took the oath the SAME day when they took the naturalization interview? If not, how long after do you have to wait to "swear in" after the interview?
    Thanks!!!!

If you pass your interview, they will give you a form telling you when your oath ceremony will take place. I have heard of same day oath ceremonies before but they are few and far between and may occur as a result of timing rather than actual policy. At the end of the day, the time between the interview and oath ceremony will depend a lot on where you are living in the US............it could take anywhere from a few days or weeks to over a year....which part of the country are you in?

Paddy, thank you for your response. I'm in the Jacksonville jurisdiction. You mentioned that
"it may occur as a result of timing rather than policy". That makes sense and is understandable. Thank you. :-)

Paddy Yes they used to do the same day in past and few now adays.
That do make sense and is understanable, that also cut the time and more waiting, and pending work.
