• GAS! GAS! GAS! STOP THE MADNESS!

Hey,

Freedom's Watch is a White House front group made up of former Bush Administration officials and donors.

Right now they're spreading lies about the real cause of the current gas price crisis, saying it's the Democrats' fault even though George Bush, **** Cheney, and their rubberstamp Congress are responsible for our current energy policy.

Help stop the misinformation -- write to Freedom's Watch and tell them you're not buying their misleading claims:

http://www.americansunitedforchange.org/FullOfIt

When George Bush took office in 2001, a gallon of gas cost just $1.47. Now it costs $3.80 per gallon -- up more than 150 percent!

During that same time, oil company profits more than quadrupled, from $30 billion in 2002 to more than $120 billion last year.

This is no coincidence. The oil and gas industries have contributed more than $4.5 million to George Bush and hundreds of thousands of dollars to his supporters in Congress, like House Minority Leader John Boehner, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and many more.

Now they're relying on Freedom's Watch to help them wiggle out of responsibility for their actions.

You can make sure that doesn't happen. Send an email right now to Freedom's Watch, and tell them you know they're full of it:

1) The profits the major companies are making are directly proportional to the amount they've been selling - approximately 5% of their total revenue. This hasn't changed in the past 8 years.

2) Congress has repeatedly failed to pass any sort of alternative energy measure or subsidized any company looking to develop alternative energy solutions.

3) A HUGE part of the problem with rising gas prices is due to the purchasing as a commodities stock. In case you all missed it, crude hit $135/barrel yesterday before the speculators started selling, then suddenly it dropped $5. It's not that the cost of processing has risen considerably, but oil is making people a lot of money outside of the industry.

Seriously. You can't blame the President or Congress soley for this mess. It's turned into a perfect storm.

Also to blame is increased demand in markets such as China.

On top of that, investors are buying and stockpiling more oil than ever before, knowing that the price will rise and the oil will be worth more later. These oil futures are a huge market for investment banks such as Morgan Stanley, but the biggest players are U.S. Pension Funds who throw billions of dollars into it.

how about we start drilling and exploring locally? build new refineries for goodness sake! the problem with us, is we are so quick to blame without taking responsbility. those hearings on the hill were a total waste of our taxes. congress creates the restrictions and then blames 'big oil.' when you consider local, state and federal taxes that are added to the price of gas, it makes you wonder. the dems are just better than the rep at transfering the blame and propaganda. there is nothing the prez or vp could do to control the price of oil. SPECULATION & DEMAND at the moment are driving the price! the shame is, we ain't seen anything yet!!!

A woman said her son found his license plate missing so he called the
police to file a report. They told him people were stealing the plates to
get free gas. Given the rise in gas prices, people have taken to stealing
license plates, putting them on their car, then getting gas and
>
> running.
> The gas station will have "your" license plate # and you could be in
trouble for "pump and run." Check your car periodically to be sure you
still have a plate. If you should find it missing, file a report
immediately!!! Keep an eye on your license plate! Make sure you always know
it's there! When the license plate is reported as the "drive off vehicle",
it's YOU they contact!
> Be aware!!! ! Be aware of your license plates, most of us never look to
see if the plates are there or not

I guess we shouldn't be crying over $4.05 per gallon. Sounds worse in other places. I think where the economy is stronger, the gas prices are higher. They were quite high in Bermuda, but I could never figure out the equation to determine how much higher they were than in the DC area.

I can definitely agree that outsourcing has gone too far and we are way too dependent on other countries for imports while they won't accept our exports. I don't understand the philosophy behind that one. But, that's government and politics for you. Not sure the people leading our country understand what they are doing anymore.

Just did the math and based on the current exchange rate, we're paying about $8 US a gallon.

I hope they start drilling for oil in the southern basin soon. All the tenders have come in, so fingers crossed!
