and you are shocked because an immigration attorney lied to you?Charged you a bunch of money for nothing? What do you think the requirements are to become an immigration attorney? Honesty? Ethical behavior? If you answered 'yes' to either of these questions, well, you have only yourself to blame.

Neverlucky, I am sorry that I can not help you with that, since the LC is a very sensitive matter and is best to have a lawyer in your own state of application.
              All the best!

You know you can always write a letter to the state bar association and complain about the lawyer.

You don't have to take this!

complaining will not make any difference really.

Here is my only Tip how to find and search for a good immigration Attorney...

First you have to make sure that Attorney is mainly and only specialist in Immigration law, that should be his/her main issue and work.
That whay u know, this attorney is up to date with everyhting....

There are lots of attorneys who claim to also be immigration attorneys because they took some seminars, but have also 50 other topics they are experts in...those attorney I would for sure avoid. They do not know s.h.i.t. , they might be good with divorce, tax, health insurance etc cases but not immigration law.

And also make sure the attorney knows alot, they way u can find that out is,once u enter the immigration attorneys office and you see basically tonz of books about immigration, then you know thats their main thing and also,u ask them how often they deal with immigration cases and if they had anyhting like yours lately and how the results were...

Never ever go to an attorney who claims he has all-around knoweldge about many things included Immigration, thats a joke. And any immigration attorney will tell you that.

Prior to retaining an attorney, it is well-advised to search the grievance database in your state to see if counsel has been reprimanded by the Bar Association for malfeasance in the past.

This is a general link, which will direct you to the agency that retains information on Bar members in any state:
                      http://www.abanet.org/cpr/regulation...ciplinary.html
The above is simply an opinion. Your mileage may vary. For immigration issues, please consult an immigration attorney.

kollerkrot: immigration attorneys only help undermine American jobs by selling their "services" with false promises of results. These charlatans are only interested in one ting and one thing only -- money, no matter what American citizen is disadvantaged, no matter what ***** tales they tell to get some dirtbag illegal alien or visa cheat a green card.

Neverlucky: here is a link to http://martindale.com/

You can check for all lawyers in the USA right here. It gives great reference as to their experience, business standing and peer reviews. It's very easy and I think if a lawyer is not in there, he is not an upstanding lawyer.

You sound like you are the one who talked to many lawyers about how to immigrate into the US. Greed is evident in all of us. I can see yours in every post you make.

Its very hard to find an Immigration attorney who is honest.. My suggestion is to educate yourself a bit about Immigration, then take an appointment with Immigration attorney, explain your case and Ask straight that what kind of approach he is going to take if he get this case.. then again get into internet and find if the aproach is right... there will be many attorney's who will give you run around or Lawyers talk to get your case..listen to them but not act on it.. you can ask the attorney that if he ever dealt with these kind of case and if he can show some sample...
                              most of them are crooks
Its a discussion, not a legal advise..
