  • GOT THE GREEN CARD!!!

I was shocked (in a good way) to check my mail box and see I had received what I thought was an approval letter from USCIS, but when I grabbed it I noticed there was something stiff inside it... could it be??... I rushed to my appartment anxious to see what was inside... When I opened it... nirvana... I couldn't beleive it!! that was fast, I said!! Of everything I've been reading in this forum about people getting their passport stamp or green cards months and months after being approved, I only waited exactly one week. And only waited for 8 months for interview after filing application.

Thank you lord!! You have truly blessed me!!
And thank everyone here for their uninterested advice.

        Congratulations...

Now for my little commentary (directed at the INS not you alex-p!)

I guess perhaps they are going to deal with the backlog turnaround by processing LIFO (Last in - First Out) instead of FIFO (First In - First Out). That way the number of cases going into backlog will drop which in turn will show an artifical decrease in backlog cases for their 'Backlog Elimination Plan'. They must of hired a numbers specialist!

I think that the Salt Lake City office in particular is pretty quick, my lawyer told me that all of his cases have been expedited in that time frame.

          But I guess I wouldn't know...

He's going into the military. He'll have more important issues to worry about than USCIS ones!

Thank you for your service alex.
