You are not considered 'illegal' until you are over 18. So you need to be concerned about the years after 18. You need to talk to a lawyer who may help you - there could be special circumstances in your case and the lawyer can help you.

Remember that you're not a "dirtbag" or whatever these people are projecting on you from their own low-self-sense. I'm looking at mostly only your post since you started this threat, and my advise to you again is: that you're not an illegal (I explained it to you in my first post). You're a person without a status and once you turn 18, you'll be an OVERSTAY. This is when you will start accruing time that will work against you for your adjustment of status.

Meaning: You will become 'removable' (you can be removed from the U.S.) 179 days after your birthday and a bar to re-enter the U.S. for the next 3 years - after your removal - will also start. At 21 years of age (3 years overstay), you may be barred from re-entering 10 or 20 years. If there are criminal factors, removability and a permanent barr to reenter may apply. This is the worst case scenario.

If you enter a true marriage with a U.S. citizen once you reach age of consent (it varies from state to state) you may be able to adjust your status fairly 'easily'.

Your father's outbreak may be a factor, but remember that his status is not secure either. So what he's been doing is a crime in the U.S. (domestic violence) and if you bring that up, he may be removable not just because of his immigration status but because of criminal factors (if he gets arrested, charged and convicted in a court of law). It is a factor that you have to decide, but my advise again; do not make it sound worst than it really was. You will have to live with that fact for the rest of your life ...

Just remember once again, that we as Americans have done so much injustice around the world that we should be the last people on this planet to tell the rest of the world who can or can't come here. Some of the posters are neither legislatures, nor have any sense.

That's what my mom says I should do. Marry a US citizen, I mean. I want to use that as a last resort though, because it's going to be 4 years alone until I can legally marry, but who knows how long it will be until I find the right guy? For I do not wish to just enter a phony marriage just to adjust my status here... I want something that's real. It might take me 10 years to find that for all I know. But for now it seems like that is my only choice.

This will sound stupid... but what do you suppose would happen if I were to go to the police station and tell them that I am "a person without status"? Do you think that they could help me, or find someone would could? I wish I could talk to an attorney, but I don't know where I would find one.

to your situation, if your parents came in on a visa and overstayed they should apply for adjustment of status. The best is to consult a lawyer. I am working on my adjustment of status right now, and I am here 19 years.

You do not have to be adopted by relatives - someone else who is a citizen can adopt you - and getting married is not the answer - If your dad hit you or your mom once - it is abuse.
