Here's my personal solution to the massive US immigration problem. (in short basic form)
1. Seal the borders.
2. Grant another general amnesty, not like the last time. This time with a few unique conditions. The alien must work in a factory or the building of factories for 10 years. (that would put America back into the manufacturing business. We need to defeat China! We will start putting tariffs on any incoming foreign goods that are being manufactured in America.)
There are about 15,000,000 undocumented. We will have a massive workforce. Naturally some will remain in the agricultural industry.
3. The new green card holder can only import his/her spouse and their biological children. No more importing all 600 members of your family.
4. Other than the amnesty people, and marriage to American citizens. Everyone else in the world is invited to come to America. But will have to meet very specific qualifications. They must be in a field that is currently deficient, or needs to be cultivated. e.g. certain types of engineering, and manufacturing expertise, etc. These new immigrants must be deemed a great asset to America, to help advance this Country supreme throughout the 21 century and beyond.
Young people from all nations with high levels of education, who are motivated with high IQ's should be welcomed to the United States.
Instead of outsourcing we'll start insourcing.
(I know there is no such word. There needs to be)
5. Deport any undocumented alien who refuses to work in a factory. That's the price of a green card. (all factory workers shall receive enough pay to survive, with overtime will allow a decent living) Any undocumented who has special skills beyond factory work, can graduate from the factory early depending on their qualifications.

What unique stated is a compilation from sites that include FAIR, NumbersUSA, and other sites, and from both sides of the fence. It is merely an opinion by Unique.
However, your link has nothing to do with China. Yes, the US in the early part of the 20th century had the same thing, child labor, unsafe working conditions, long working hours, etc. it is why unions, child labor laws, and other regulatory laws were encacted, and yes, the same reason you have given were used in that time period. So, you are now complaining that China is using capitialistic ideas to beat the United States at our own game. I onder who is at fault for this? Give you a hint, it is not the Chinese.
China today is much different than it was under Chairman Mao. And I don't think you have visitied there at all, have you.

I will disagree with amnesty unique..too lenient. I will go for the 4 year temporary work visa, which they have to qualify first. They need to pay a penalty $5000 dollar each for breaking the law.They should go back to their home country to reapply or renew their visa.
They have to wait at the back of the line for the path for citizenship till USCIS clears the backlog.
The idea of amnesty was tried back in the 80's and it lead to the mess we have now. What should be done is require the following for anyone wanting to stay. We don't need slave labor camps to restart the manufacturing sector. Perhaps some leniency in the tree hugger laws would suffice.
1, Provide proof of no falsified identities. 2, Pay all Fed/State back taxes and fines for late filing. This would include taxes for nonexistent exemptions and under the table income. 3, Pay all money back for received social services. USCs are required to do this as it is now. 4, Pay all bills for medical services received. 5, Provide verifiable documentation showing all activities while here. 6, Repay education institutions at the non-resident rate.
Just this short list alone would send the vast majority packing. I wonder what the illegal alien laws are like in China? Would they try to bill the family for the spent cartridge?

We will never be able to solve these problems...no matter now much we try. We'll end up hurting ourselves, even our economy-thas happenin now...all these things will come to pass though.
davdah and WhiteUSC are right...make all the illegals repay, at a minimum, every dime they have STOLEN from American citizens...repay ALL medical bills, pay ALL tuitions for their brats, pay ALL back taxes on every nickel they stole "bajo la mesa" (under the table)...all of this at a minimum....plus, ten years hard labor repairing roads in the US or, adios, deporation and a permanent bar from ever returning to the US of A legally...ever...no waivers, no forgiveness, no anything...

Will import the labor from Africa, India, Pakistan etc but deport them illegals. Too many of them. And the imports will stay within certain boundaries maintained and monitored by ICE. If they try to cheat, then them.

imports will stay within certain boundaries are you talking about foreign product imports. there's plenty of foreign imports not much american made here anymore that's why I go to garage sales 'cause that's all that's left of American made jajjajajajajaja

It is not a communist plan. If a person desires to be a medical doctor, he/she must complete the required education and internship. I simply believe that anyone who entered the USA illegally and made a life for themselves in the USA needs to dedicate a portion of their life to serving America. The reason I say this is because it is impossible and ridiculous to think that all 20,000,000 illegal's could be rounded up and deported. Since the illegal's are not going to depart on their own recognizance, and since America does not have the total resolve required to deport them. Why not resolve the issue peacefully, in a way that America is the beneficiary?

I believe that if a solution were offered that is amicable to both the alien and the American people, it would be the best solution to a problem that currently seems unsolvable. I also believe that most illegal aliens would be glad to work for America, in exchange for a regular paycheck and a green card.
The only thing un-American about America, is the USCIS.
