What a nigtmare. I got my greencard with a wrong dob, not my mistake, I called the USCIS customer service and They asked me to send it back to national services office with an I-90, I did that and somehow my application was sent to CA office so they returned to me. ( I live in VA). Called the USCIS again and They told me to re sent the application. I did that and the application was sent back to me again, from the CA Office. I sent it a third time and it was sent back to me for the third time. So I called the USCIS again ( 7th time) talked to a officer and he told me to wait 3 days for a phone call from his supervisor. I t was 2 weeks ago and no calls. They keep sending my application to CA office and nobody knows why. Any ideas, I need to get it fixed. ( my greecard says resident since 05/05/08 not dated back)

Updating my case.

July 03 2007 ASC Appointment Notice
appointment for biometrics july 20 2007.
Looks like here in VA everything is going faster.
Do You know what kind of documents I am going to need at the time of the interview?
RGM

Hi rgm,

How's everthing going?
One question for you; when they took your biometrics on July 20th, 2007 for your I-698, they took your picture as well?

I just came back from the ASC, they took my fingerprints (all 10 fingers), but not my picture.

Take care.

Freedom1.

Hmm. So weird.
My ASC letter said that my fingerprints were needed because the ones on file had expired.

The ASC letter had a code "1" on it.

when you got your temporary GC, was it in the paper form or card format?

The temporary GC looks like an Employment Authorization Card, with a 4 year exp. date and with the words "VALID FOR REENTRY TO U.S."

Sorry I forgot.
You also get a letter with your picture with an embosed seal on it.

You'll need this letter and your new 4 year EAD in order to re-enter the U.S.

Bannister,

Try and find out how long after you get the green card can you apply for citizenship. Is it 5 yrs or 3 yrs for people such as ourselves.

Thanks

It is from the day you get your permanent resident card ...

Sorry I answered it myself.

(m) Date of adjustment to permanent residence. The status of an alien whose application for permanent resident status is approved shall be adjusted to that of a lawful permanent resident as of the date of filing of the application for permanent residence or the eligibility date, whichever is later. For purposes of making application to petition for naturalization, the continuous residence requirements for naturalization shall begin as of the date the alien's status is adjusted to that of a person lawfully admitted for permanent residence under this part.

Hey freedom1, any update on your case, did you get your green card yet.

I just applied my I-698 a few days ago, got my receipt, wonder how long it takes from here. I know my 19 months will be over sometime in the coming May '09.

Hi Shabber,

No, my case still in process.
This Oct 10th will be 2 months after they took my fingerpints again.
The FBI used to take 2 months for fingerprint checks, so if they still do, they should be calling me any time now.

Or maybe is my wishfull thinking.

Hey, guys

I finally had my interview yesterday. After taking (and passing) the civics and English test, the lady who interviewed me told that my I-698 application was approved, that I should wait for my I-551 card, which will arrive in 3-5 weeks. The whole thing took about 20-25 minutes. Smile
