I am a US Citizen who married an Italian woman last September in Italy. Upon returning to the US, I applied for to come here. With the help of Immigration lawyer we sent the I130 and other appropriate forms.

We received our case number in November of '04
We received a request for more info in Feb of '05
which was sent out immediatley....

Are we getting any closer to her coming here?

How much more time must pass? When will she be notified in Italy for her interview etc.?

Can she come and visit?

What service center did you send it to? You can check the status online at the USCIS website!

That's a little confusing because..it was sent to Nebraska yet my response was from California....I heard that parts are being handled by different centers.

This link will explain the whole process:
http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1315.html

The CIS transfers a lot of petition from other Service Centers to California. According to the CIS's website the Cali Center adjudicates I-130 for a spouse of a USC received on or before Jan 04 2005:
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=California

So you're looking for a few more months. The first link explained about the NVC process. It might take 2-6 months after the NVC receives the petition from the CIS and an interview date.

Cheers.

Thanks for the info....there is light at the end of the tunnel......

I'm amazed that as a US citizen I have to endure such bureaucracy!

If you grew up here, then you shouldn't be surprised. U.S. bureaucracies are no different than any other. Bureaucracies are the same the world over.

Just a follow up question....

I'm assuming that at this point after they review our info...it should be sent to Italy and my wife should expect a notice about the medical exam and interview?

Is it worth filing a K-3? Will this go through before the I-130 does?
