My wife and I went for interview in July 2006.
On interview paperwork, name was misspelled which we tried to correct before interview sending certified letter. Couldnt get approved because FBI background check did search on misspelled first name.

Went to Infopass - New York immigration officer told her to go back to local office. The local office told her there wasnt an immigration officer to speak to - but had to fill out a form for case status.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

When does anybody think this type of case can be resolved for a green card?

This case has been going on since February 2006.

I have a I-130 for my wife pending as well. The case has been pending since October 2005. I still have not heard anything since then. One thing about immigration is that it takes a long time to fix an error. Please let me know how it turns out. What was the interview for (I-485?)? What was the result of the interview?

Aw, c'mon. I find that hard to believe.

Don't tell me you didn't bring a copy of the letter to the interview!

You can believe whatever the $^$^&* you want.

Below is the truth.

The immigration officer said she didnt know how long it would take to correct the mistake. That was in July 2006.

What takes the FBI so long to do a simple background check on the correct spelling?
