It is for sure more complicated than just feeling out forms. From the advice that we have had until now, there is at least 3 important steps to do. We are just trying to get some more ideas and we will move on this week.
Thank you.

You better move on the paperwork before the end of the 30 days or you will be in worse trouble

How much did you pay the lawyer?

We paid him $3.000 for the one process that he had to do, but now it is really complicated, so we have to do 3 processes which are going to cost around $8.000.
We are thinking to settle our problem first and then, do something to get our money back from him.
Thank you for your response

Markos,
I wouldn't waste a minute, first thing you need to do is to get an appiintment with your locan USCIS office, talk to an officer, he should give you some guidelines, the second thing is I would get another lawyer or at least a consultation. Don't think of the money you paid to that lawyer now.

Michael,
In Markos's situation the lawyer is a must, Asylum cases cannot go to court without lawyer, then it is not your business how much he paid to the lawyer you rude ****!

Don't listen to that terrorist Injoy. Here is what you do. You call that lawyer and tell him that you will contact the local Bar Association and file a lawsuit if he doesn't return your call within 3 hours. Then go to small claims court and file a suit and call the county bar association and report him if he doesn't call. If he calls, demand to see the proof that he sent the paperwork in for AOS. If he has not done so yet, fire him and demand your money back immediately or else follow through with those actions. You can file for AOS on your own although the deportation order will complicate things but you should be fine.

Markos,
The J-e-r-k has a good idea but not now, i would finish 1 thing at a time, try to get an evidence that the lawyer didn't send your file on time.

$8000 a case ! If I get 20 cases a year that is $160,000 a year in addition to my regular salary !!!
And the best part is that they will be deported before they can do anything to me.

Michael, I don,t understand what are you trying to say. If I ever will be deported, I will be coming back, and during the time that I will not be here, my wife will follow up.
Thank you.
