i applied for political assylum last year and i was denied at the ins interview. i went to the immigration court where again i was unlucky and my case was denied. i was granted voluntary departure but a filed an apeal and i am waiting for an answer which i know that will not be positive. a forget to mention that before applying i was illegal in the country after my J1 visa expired. now i have o work permit because my case is still pending. can i have somebody apply for me with the ins to obtain residency based on employment? if not what exactly can i do before my appeal answer comes back?

if you have spent over 6 months out of status in the US it will be extremely diifficult, if not impossible, for you to adjust status in whihc case you will ahve to return home to obtain your green card and will be subjetc to a three year ban on readmission or a ten year ban if you have been over one year ou tof status on the US
