OK, what is a former high commissioner to Germany. I will have to research that one now too. I think this is war related, but maybe he does have juristiction over my issue. If he does, I'll be digging him up wherever he might be.
I can be ruthless!

Moreover, you must be seeing the irony in the immigration provision that does not except foreign pardons for a crime. Please pardon my English, but I think the person(s) that is responsible for that provision is a complete idiot.

(4) Conviction in absentia. A conviction in absentia of a crime involving moral turpitude does not constitute a conviction within the meaning of INA 212(a)(2)(A)(i)(I).
So, that leaves that as the only possibility, i.e. loophole for me.

Oh man, you too? Please see the law degree in action!!
In order to get a waiver, one has to be declared not inadmissable first. So, the loophole thing is priority. Than I will file for a waiver. So, first things first!
Appreciate all ideas!

MIR Darling! My father once told me - you gonna have to work and pay taxes everywhere you go.
I have yet to notice the milk and honey flowing down the street, even here in the promised land.

Hi Brit,
I am spouting provisions and sections....don't I? I am desperate! I need to find a way out of this. It bothers me that there seems to be only one way out. I am not the type of person to put all eggs in one basket.
I am learning more and more about immigration law and... more and more what a moron my former lawyer was. He actually did apply for waivers already back in 1984, without removing the illigibility issue first. No wonder INS denied me. He focused on completely the wrong thing. You think lawyers know something...like something other than collecting money. I should have taken this into my own hands long ago - I might not be in this situation.

You mean addition. I am right - lawyers do sell their services often not having a clue about immigration. I am going through an almost 30 year old file and see one mistake after the other. I am angry - I relied on these people.

The main function of the USCIS is to keep foreigners out of the USA. They look for reasons to deny your application, that’s their job. In my case, when they could not find a reason, they made up a false reason. They did this because I irritated them. That was the bullet in my head, I should not have irritated them.
In your case you confessed something that they would never have found, without you telling them. That was the bullet in your head. That was your demise. Remember, anything you say can and will be used against you.
The bottom line for both you and I, is that our lives in America are over. Fair or not fair, we’re done. You got caught with drugs, I was only slightly sarcastic. My punishment is the same as yours. Think about that.
The only thing un-American about America, is the USCIS.

Unique, I am sorry, but I did not get caught with drugs, nor have I ever confessed to anything. I had words with German Custom Police Officers back in Germany. The reason USCIS knows about it, was that this exchange ended up in my records when I had to submit my certificate of conduct during when I first applied for residency in 1984.
I HAVE NEVER ADMITTED OR CONFESSED TO ANYTHING.
I am so prepared to give them a piece of me. Stay Tuned!
