Ahhh Davdah..that is sweet what you said Smile and very true.

Even though mine didn't turn out good..I still believe plenty do work out too.
I wish you all the best NYC, and I hope you two can somehow be together and continue your relationship.

Thanks davdah and sprint_girl.

I've been e-mailing with his cousin in Spain and learned that his mom went back into the hospital. He told me that he was going to buy as many phone cards as possible and call Ecuador to find out what's going on and start a big, family discussion about his next steps.

The man doesn't know how to be selfish and live for himself (proof positive that he is NOT hounding me for a green card)! He says his life is still revolving around doing all he can for his parents. He says that if his mom truly needs him, he will not hire a lawyer or seek a bond, but just hope to be sent home voluntarily and as quickly as possible.

It's easy to have selfish thoughts about wanting to keep him here for me, but it's pretty rotten to let them cross my mind when he's been supporting his mom for years and she's sick.
