pls help!how long does it usually take for military servicemen's Naturalization?
It is expedited according to USCIS but specifically how long?
my husband has received a notice of action(I-797c)in sept.12, having a notice date of sept. 7.and the letter stated that he will be notified of the date and place of interview when he has been scheduled by the local USCIS office and that he should expect to be notified within 365 days of the notce.
what's next?Is it the interview?
how long does it actually take? How long should we have to wait?
PLS. HELP!

My priority date was October 03, 2005. I submitted my own fingerprints which they even removed that requirement for military now. I was interviewed June 21st, 2006. In 2 days, their 120 day period will be up and I can take them to district court under 8 USC 1447 (b).

Simple answer for you, it depends on where your husband is from. It may well be a VERY LONG WAIT, minimum couple years.

The system is broke and it doesn't work. It came to a point that you either have to push it, poke it, kick it, beat it to get what you long deserved, or you will sit and wait on a bunch of losers to decide your career advancements, your plans, your life. I served this country and I would like to until I am not capable anymore, however because of the same "losers" (i.e. the names you list under defendants in a 1447 lawsuit) who are in charge and therefore directly responsible of the broken system, most military members don't even feel like they are part of the team.

And on top of that, they make you suffer waiting for years on a naturalization clearance due to their incompetency and irresponsibility, and yet when you give your life defending your country, they have the rotten face to grant you citizenship immediately.

Personally, it will be in my will not to accept posthumous citizenhsip under no circumstance in case I give my life to this country with my doggone N-400 pending a lame name check!

My husband's PS told him that he can be naturalized in two months time upon filing.it's sad to hear your experience. i guess i should not expect anymore. He really needs to be naturalized soon so that he can upgrade my I130(F2) to IR1 and be together the soonest possible. But i think it's not gonna happen soon. I'm really losing hope.I have'nt seen him for years now. It's really so depressing.
anyways thank u for you replies.hope to hear from you again!

NO need to lose hope. It won't happen in 2 months, NO WAY!, but on average, he will be a citizen within 6 months. We had a filipino in my unit, pretty smooth for filipinos.
