I need your advice please, I notice that I say no to one of the question in my citizenship application, that I have never been cited, while I have received speeding ticket for minor speed. What can I do to correct this mistake? My interview date is very close I need your help people.
A friend of mine is in a similar situation. He got two ticket (one for not wearing seat belt and other for turning left on "no-left turn" sign), but he said "No" on the same point as well. He is also anxious what would happen to him. If the application is denied, will he loose his GC as well?
Thanks.

I would go even further... I would make copies or a list of the appropriate ticket(s) and hand it to the guy right at the outset of the interview. Say something like "I realized afterward that this should of included traffic tickets - here you go..." or something to that effect.
A couple of traffic tickets won't affect you but lying about them might...
Just my thoughts without any first-hand experience on this...
Due to the ease with which these guys can hound you later, I think its best to keep everything clean. Tell the truth, even if that means volunteering information.
My friend today talked with his lawyer (according to him, he is a very good one). He advised my friend to send INS a letter explaining that during a recent review he thougth he should have mentioned the ticket in the application. The lawyer also advised him to try to gather as much info/document related to the ticket as possible and bring them to the interveiw.
Thanks.

With regard to N-400 Application of citizenship, you can amend your application when you get to your interview. Before you are put on oath, and asked to sign your application, ask the CIS officer for an opportunity to make a changes to the application .You can also bring a copy of the citiation and the disposition of the case. Do so before you sign the application. Once you sign the application, then you cannot make any changes to your statements.
In my N400 app, I answered "NO" to question 37 of OATH (Will I bear arms in US Forces ?) because I was misinformed by my attorney earlier that question 37 (combat duties) and 38 (noncombat duties) are mutually exclusive and that if I answer YES to 38 but NO to 37 then it's alright. Now he is saying it was a mistake. I would need more documentation to support NO to 37. I now feel that I should simply make corrections to my N400 and say YES to 37 (I am willing to bear arms if law says must). Any idea how I can make that correction? What will happen to my application meanwhile - will USCIS reject it or send me a letter for more documentation. Any idea how much time it would cost me? Texas.
My interview will come up in less than two weeks, i have get a copy of my driving trecords for the past five years. So i promise to give details when i come back from the interview.
Tai, do yourself a favor....go to the USCIS website and download a fillable N-400 application. Print off the pages that need to include the speeding ticket information and hand it to the Immigration officer. I had my N-400 interview last week and the officer really appreciated the fact that I had take the time to ammend my application with any new details including the speeding tickets that I too did not realize I had to list. Basically as long as you are honest about it, you won't have a problem....good luck
