would love to hear the comments on this...... its one of those i found in another forum...would love to know if it is correct or not.... might be nice to have a constructive debate......

There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special
ballots for elections, all government business will be conducted in
our language.
Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are
here.

Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.

Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food
stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs.

Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal
to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT
options will be restricted. You are not allowed waterfront property.
That is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.

Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign
flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his
policies, if you do you will be sent home.

If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and
sent straight to jail.

Harsh, you say?.................

The above laws happen to be the immigration laws of " MEXICO " !

There's a lady who runs a shop in Lynchburg Tn called Mrs Fuqua

ntfd3,
May I ask a favor of you because my time is limited due to work hours.
In your web travels see if you can find anything about an occurrence in Texas about two years ago. I just heard it on a.m. radio talk show two days ago and I couldn't hear it very well with it fading out.

It's about a border patrol officer that hit an illegal Mexican over the head with a flashlight. The host was interviewing the officer who has been unemployed, lost his home, etc. I can't repeat it exactly because I caught it late in the discussion. The officer admitted that the guys lied (as requested by the government to do so), the guys said that it was just an accident when the officer hit him, he was just waving the flashlight and it hit him on the head. They lied because they were asked to lie by governement. The officer said he did it on purpose and they knew it. I guess they got a plea deal or something. Not deported. So, some time back, two years or since, I don't know, they discussed the two illegals getting stopped. The officer didnt' know exactly what to do because he knew that this was a questionable situation. He called his department and was told to let them go. Now I don't know if it was one of the two original illegal guys or one of them with another man in the car.

Then they spoke of "goatman" who is the uncle of somebody (I didn't catch all of this) and he is a coyote (smuggler). So, he was instructed by the department to let the guy(s) go again. So, goatman is related to somebody. I can't remember if I had to get out of my car or if it was the static that got so bad but that's all I got out of it. Anyway, I would really like to find out about this.

It was actually on tv 2 nights ago... Quite interesting actually .... the guy lost his job for alledgedly being heavy handed with illegal immigrants.. he went to court and was found guilty.. on appeal he was cleared of all charges which means he is entitled to back pay etc..... He is now in the process of trying to get his job back. The mexican that he alledgedly hit has been bringing in illegals and is well known, and to this day is still bringing in illegals....It was on Larry King.... so its making news.. Will try and find u the official version..... but it was quite extrodinary that the government knew of and knows of this is going on and is allowing it ....

Great! Thanks! I knew they said the gov't was involved (maybe small town officials?) because of a goatman's relationship. I'm anxious to hear about it!

COLORADO MIGHT FARM OUT INMATES

Colorado is considering letting prison imates work on private farms after farmers complained that an illegal-immigration crackdown has left them short-handed. The Corrections Department program would probably start in Pueblo County, operating under the prison industries division that trains and employs about 1,200 inmates, department Executive Director Ari Zavaras said. Pueblo Country farmers Joe Pisciotta and Phil Prutch said immigrant workers are afraid to come to Colorado because of tough immigrant laws passed last summer. Among other things, the laws require people receiving state and federal benefits to prove they are legal U.S. residents.

More Pop Stars Finding Fans En Espanol
The Associated Press
Published: Apr 2, 2007

MIAMI - Few in the crowd seemed to recognize Grammy-winning rapper and producer Wyclef Jean as he leaped onstage before the sold-out South Florida arena. Then Colombian superstar Shakira shimmied onto the floor, the two traded Spanish and English rhymes, and the crowd roared.

Cha-ching, thousands of new fans for Jean, the Haitian-American founder of the 1990s hip-hop sensation the Fugees.

It used to be that to make it in the United States, artists had to cross over from Spanish to English the way Ricky Martin did, but lately stars such as Jean, Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez are kicking it the other way - singing and rapping in Spanish for the hemisphere's Hispanic market.

Something For Everyone
With salsa, boleros, cumbia, alt-rock and reggaeton, Latin music offers a little something for everyone. Then there's the state of the music industry. As more fans download al***s than buy them, record labels are desperate for new listeners. The estimated 32 million Spanish speakers in the United States, not to mention about another 400 million Spanish-speakers in Spain and Latin America, are markets screaming to be tapped.

"It's hard to ignore when 11 million people watch the Latin Grammys," said Jose Cancela, author of the book, "The Power of Business en espanol," and a 25-year veteran of Spanish-language radio and television.

"What more and more artists are seeing is that the growth of Spanish-language media, especially in the top 25 markets in the country, is having real impact on airplay and on viewership," he said.

Beyonce's April release of the reissued "B'Day" contains half a dozen songs in Spanish. The idea for the al*** was born with a duet her group, Destiny's Child, recorded with Spanish pop singer Alejandro Sanz four years ago.

"A lot of my Latin fans said, 'Oh, you should do more songs in Spanish,'" Beyonce said during a recent news conference in her hometown of Houston.

She took them to heart, recording Spanish versions of hits such as "Irreplaceable" and "Listen" from the film "Dreamgirls."

Jennifer Lopez, who was born in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents, also just released her first complete Spanish al***, "Como Ama Una Mujer," or "How a Woman Loves." Lopez has said she did her first demo in Spanish, but back then the labels weren't interested. Now she'll likely sing one of her Spanish songs when she appears in an upcoming episode of Fox Television's "American Idol."

Even Brooklyn hipster and kiddie crooner Dan Zanes, who acknowledges "I am such an Anglo," is working on a CD in Spanish due early next year.

Musicians' Interest Is Growing
Pop musicians have recorded songs in other languages before, but in recent years the number of top U.S. artists rolling that Spanish "r" seems to keep growing.

The benefits go both ways. Wyclef's duet with Shakira, "Hips Don't Lie," became a global hit and boosted sales of her English al*** "**** Fixation Vol. 2." Meanwhile, Beyonce's recent duet with Mexico's Alejandro Fernandez for a telenovela version of "Zorro" is sure to cross-pollinate fans.

Miami-based music producer Rudy Perez, the go-to man for Spanish lyrics, adds that even second- and third-generation Hispanic fans like the idea that artists are reaching out to them, validating their heritage by singing in their parents' or grandparents' language.

But interest in Spanish is personal for some artists, he says.

Living Latin But Speaking English
Perez started the crossover work with Christian music star Jaci Velasquez, who is Mexican-American, then went on to work with Christina Aguilera for her 2000 al***. Neither woman spoke much Spanish - Aguilera's father is Ecuadoran but she was raised mostly by her German-American mother - and both wanted to get in touch with their roots, he said.

"Like a lot of kids in the U.S., they might live Latin but speak English," he said.

Perez often writes out the Spanish lyrics phonetically for the artists. He spends hours playing with words to make each line end with a sound similar to the English version to keep the music familiar.

Aguilera's Spanish was so convincing that Perez had to go out and explain to Spanish-language media before her press conferences that she didn't actually speak the language.

Beyonce also worked with Perez and has received rave reviews for her accent. Even though she doesn't speak Spanish, Beyonce said that, growing up in Texas, she was influenced by Hispanic friends and culture and vowed to work hard on her pronunciation.

"I really wanted to respect the language," she said.

Zanes Doesn't Want To Miss Out
Zanes also said he's interested in learning more about the culture behind the music.

"It's such a big part of America and New York," Zanes said. "Not speaking the language, I felt like I was missing out on a lot of fun."

Choosing the Puerto Rican independence song "Verde Luz" for his new al*** sparked Zanes to delve more into the island's history and independence movement. He hopes parents of his pacifier-toting groupies might be likewise inspired.

U.S. stars aren't the only ones crossing over. Canadian chanteuse Nelly Furtado's latest al*** "Loose" has several Spanish-language songs, and Czech singer Marta Topferova has received rave reviews for her Latin boleros. The Japanese salsa group, Orchestra de la Luz, has played worldwide for more than a decade.

So far, the Spanish-language forays seems well-received by listeners.

"Beyonce in Spanish is a little weird," said fan Vanessa Garcia, 18, a veterinary student in Miami. "But her accent's good.

"I don't know if it's about culture or going back to their roots," she said. "It's about more fans."

Bilingual Education Should Be Dropped in U.S., Gingrich Says

The Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich equated bilingual education Saturday with "the language of living in a ghetto" and mocked requirements that ballots be printed in multiple languages.

"The government should quit mandating that various documents be printed in any one of 700 languages depending on who randomly shows up" to vote, said Gingrich, who is considering seeking the Republican presidential nomination in 2008. He made the comments in a speech to the National Federation of Republican Women.

"The American people believe English should be the official language of the government. ... We should replace bilingual education with immersion in English so people learn the common language of the country and they learn the language of prosperity, not the language of living in a ghetto," Gingrich said to the crowd of more than 100.

Peter Zamora, of the Hispanic Education Coalition, which supports bilingual education, said, "The tone of his comments were very hateful. Spanish is spoken by many individuals who do not live in the ghetto."

He said research has shown "that bilingual education is the best method of teaching English to non-English speakers." Spanish-speakers, he said, know they need to learn English. "There's no resistance to learning English, really, among immigrants, among native-born citizens. Everyone wants to learn English because it's what you need to thrive in this country."

Good ole Newt at it again I see....
Had he stopped after these sentences:
quote:
"The American people believe English should be the official language of the government. ... We should replace bilingual education with immersion in English so people learn the common language of the country and they learn the language of prosperity,

then everyone will just nod their head in agreement.

Now for this statement from the Hispanic Education Coalition:
quote:

"There's no resistance to learning English, really, among immigrants, among native-born citizens. Everyone wants to learn English because it's what you need to thrive in this country."

Then why we should keep giving them incentives not to learn english, such as those billingual ballots?

the Hispanic Ed Coal like all Hispanic agendas are operated by Mexicans, who, have the nerve to speak for ALL HISPANICS. English SHOULD BE, WILL BE the OFFICIAL LANGUAGE of the US. Every country, and I mean, EVERY COUNTRY in the world has an official language, religion, and so on. Forget the religion thing for us, but the language is imperative to amend the constitution TODAY. And whoever doesn't like it.... guess what!
