If you pass, tell the officer at the interview that you will need to travel in 3 weeks- he/she may actually move up the ceremony for you so you can do the oath and get your US passport or can make sure you have the ceremony after you return.

The officer will have no knowledge of when your oath ceremony is, unless it is on a regular schedule. You will not be able to change it. You will be notified by mail of the oath ceremony date and time.

Well, that actually depends on the field office. I've known individuals who were sworn in the same day as their interview when they had impending travel plans. Some field offices will tell you the date of the oath ceremony on the day of your interview if you are willing to wait. Every field office works differently and it won't hurt for worried to try.

Mine was a same day Oath but only because we were all FBI namecheck victims. 28 month wait in my case.
