no record might mean they have no record back yet!

When i went for my interview they told me that i was the only one that was being interviewed that day whose checks had got back!!!!!! so its nothing unusual!!!

and YAAA no the interviews dont wait for the background checks to clear! before they are scheduled.

Does anybody know if I should be concerned that I wasn't approved on the spot at my interview?

if u were going to be denied you will hear pretty quick. within the month of the interview. If ur security check isnt back yet.. which is what u were told then that could take a long long time. Sometimes up to a year!! so get thru the month of NOT GETTING A DENIAL LETTER and then just basically sit and wait on it. If u havent heard anything for a couple of months, get a info passappt and go and ask about it. it might be back and mislaid somewhere.

it might be interesting if there were stats out there regarding this, maybe someone else knows if there is.. about how many are approved at interview and how many are approved at a later date because of this bg check.

I just think it's weird that she told me that my security checks aren't finished. She walked out of the office and I read my file and it said that my check had been completed. First she told me that I have 2 other A#'s and that she needed to get those files because they all need to be together. Then she said that my security checks weren't done. I thought it was kinda weird that she said that when I read for myself that they were completed. Do you think it's possible that she told me that they weren't done because she didn't have all my other files? Also, does anyone know what "Priority F-1" means? Thanks

Has anyone else gone to their AOS interview? If so, what happened?

Hi group. My husband and I will have our interview in two weeks (also in the SF Bay Area). We filed our petition mid April-early May and have gone through Biometrics but not sure about the Name Check or Background Check as of yet. Do you get a notification indicating that a Background Check and/or Name Check has/will be conducted?

I will let all of you know how the interview went.

No, but decision won't be made unless all checks are completed.

Hi All! So we had our interview on Aug 3.

we waited with other people in the waiting area for about 15 minutes. we went in, shook hands, showed our IDs, got sworn in, the agent verified names, addresses, current employers then asked to see supporting evidence of our marriage.

we showed a few bills, joint insurance documents, church documents, 2 photo al***s and that was it.

we had one small blemish which is why he could not approve us on the spot right there. the doctor who conducted the physical forgot to check a box on the medical form, so the agent gave it back to us and we had to go back to the doctor to redo the papers then return to the USCIS to turn the corrected forms in. once that was done, i got notification through USCIS website the next morning indicating that a welcome letter was sent in the mail : )

APPROVED in approx 100 days total Smile

Kobe3238,
Congrats! Are you signed up for the automatic notification online with USCIS or did you just type in your case number?
thanks

We all understand that uscis had to go through the background and Name check.

If a person is in the US for last ten plus years how can they get any kind of information about him/her. Most of the Government agency do not keep the records for more then five years.

Once you go for fingerprints then it should not take more then three/months.
Background and name check is just an excuse for the backlog.

Disagree. Quite the opposite: it's the cause of most backlogs, thanks to the PATRIOT Act (et. al) after 9/11. But it's gonna be hastened soon. Please refer to the Administration's pronouncements soon, but it's to be coupled with a number of "enforcement only" measures.

My attorney just sent my I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131 application. I'm concerned about two things. I live in a different city from my wife because of school and she's stuck on a work contract for the next 10 months... she will be joining me afterwards... we have sufficient evidence to show this. The question is whether any documentation from immigration will be sent to my address, her address or our attorney.
I may differ my school year and move back to be with her in the same city (address). How easy is it to change addresses... especially without a receipt #?
Finally, is the interview location based on your most current address or the location the application was filed from. Is there flexibility in determining the interview location?

Thanks

Maroonie12,
I think you'll be fine as long as you have proof of why you guys are not living together at this time. From what I understand, you and your attorney are going to get the receipt letter, biometrics appointment...etc. Whatever address you put down as your home address is where your local office will be. I live in Houston so my interview was at the Houston district office.

Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there.

well for me it started back in 95. I had to wait a long time for my priority date to become current. I could have applied earlier because my step-dad became a citizen, but we didn't know that so we kept waiting. I applied in april 07 and I went to the interview june 07. It was a long waiting period for me.
