Herbit, I just got back from my I-485 interview, I was in and out in 20mins with my temporary I-551(green card) stamped in my passport. She only asked for my passport, my original visa to the US and whether or not my mother(the petitioner) was still alive. Then she went over my application-address, criminal history and place of employment. She double checked my priority date and that was it. Good luck to you.
Pakka, CONGRATS!! Did your mom go to the interview? What questions did she ask you from the application? What specifically did she ask you about your employment? Did you already have a work permit? Were they friendly? Thanks
Hey familybasedAOS, I dont know about pakka, but I went to my fingerprint appointment on May 2nd. That was a Tuesday. On friday, I got my interview notice in the mail for June 12th. From the day they received it until the day of my interview, it will be 62 days. I'm very nervous about my interview.
Hi Herbit, Sorry it took a while for my reply. My mother did not go to the interview. She asked about my date of birth, current address, if I had committed any crimes and my last entry to the US. She asked if I was still at my current job(she was looking at the 325a form). I already had a work permit based on TPS. She also had to double check that my priority date was current. It was really easy, she didn't even asked for my mother's naturalization certificate. As for my time line, I sent application in on Feb 1, fingerprints done Mar 2, asked to send in medical, also sent on Mar 2, interview date, May 22, temp greencard stamp in passport at interview. May 29, got my welcome to US letter(no actual card yet.)

Dude, May 2nd 2007 is Wednesday. You seem really nervous. So you are saying you got interview notice within 5 days of fingerprinting? Anyways, GOOD LUCK and don't forget to share your interview experience with us.

Thanks! 3 months and 29 days is quick I guess? I should have not applied for EAD and AP.
I went to my fingerprint appointment on May 2nd and on the 4th, I got the interview letter. When I went to my lawyers office, he told me that I shouldnt apply for an EAD because they are processing I-485's faster than the EAD's. Where are you? Have you gotten your interview letter yet?
Not to brag or anything, but I did my application and my sister's by myself, no lawyers. I lost $1800.00 to a lawyer, and decided to do everything on my own.
That's pretty good Pakka. I had to use a lawyer because my parents wanted to make sure I didn't make a mistake otherwise i would have done it myself. I thought they stop stamping passports. Did you have to ask for it? Where was your interview at? Thanks
My application was mailed to: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services P.O. Box 805887 Chicago, IL 60680-4120
My application was then forwarded to the Regional Service Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri
I received biometric appointment letter from Missouri Service Center (MSC) and biometric was actually done at local Application Support Center (ASC) in Oakland CA.
Herbit, No, I did not ask for the stamp. She just did it. She did want to see my original visa that I entered the US with. I did not have it, but I had a copy of it. Make sure your passport is current. That was the only thing she asked for. I interviewed in Buffalo.
Does anyone know what happens, if you go to the interview and your passport is expired? I have a marriage based interview with my wife and step son. My step son's passport expired Jan 2007, and my wife's expires Jun 17, 2007. We have biometics on June 4th, our interview has not been schedule yet.
Thanks Pakka. I was able to renew my passport. So I'll have that available if they ask for it. I'm not sure what happens if you're passport has expired. Are you able to get it renewed?
I think my wife can get hers renewed. But I'm not sure about my step-son. It may take both parents consent, and right now we don't know where his father is.
