Good afternoon everyone. Just stopped in to say hello.
My daughter passed the last exam for her first year in nursing school. She got a 83%. Right now I'm as proud as any parent can be.
On another irrelevant note, I'm surprised that my websites lasted for as long as they did. My husband's friend, John Idehen of Edo Radio accused me of copyright infringement because I uploaded a video of my husband celebrating 25 years of a bigamous marriage with his 2nd "wife."
Contrary to popular belief, unless one is Muslim, bigamy is illegal in Nigeria (see
http://www.nigeria-law.org/Marriage%20Act.htm, section entitled "Offences and Penalties, paragraphs 45, 46, 47 and 48). That wouldn't make a difference anyway because my husband contracted out the marriage with the 2nd "wife" in the United States.
Right now, the only frustrating thing where my situation with my husband is concerned is the waiting. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service cannot expedite my request to give me a copy of the form I signed to sponsor my husband, so I'll have to wait a good while before I get it. Once I get it, I can have his 2nd "marriage" void and contact various federal agencies with proof that the names "Godwin" and "Ehigie" belong to one and same person.
Until then, I guess I'll have to settle with being treated like a liar until I have the paper to prove that I'm telling the truth.
On a happier note, I found a not-for-profit organization in Brooklyn that will pay for my business to get a business certificate. It will also help me to draw up a business plan so that I can expand my home-based business. So everything's good for now -- not great, but good.
Sometimes we Americans tend to complain about picayune things -- that is, until we hear about the hell that people experience in other countries. Let me tell you -- a bad day in America is a great day in a whole heap of places. Even the homeless are guaranteed 3 hots and cot in American. It ain't like that in a lot of places around the world.
I may complain a little, but thank God I'm an American. I wouldn't trade in my citizenship for all the money in the world.
Anyway, I hope that everyone had, if not a great day, at least good day. If you remember one thing, remember this: A bad day in America is heaven everywhere else. We live in the best country in the world.
Everyone have a wonderful evening.
